Business travellers can find good accommodation much more conveniently located to the nearby industries on the Le Fevre Peninsula, while leisure travellers can enjoy all the great things to do in the area and the nearby beaches. Where to Stay in Port Adelaide
This section will look at accommodation located right in the heart of Port Adelaide. You will be in walking distance of plenty of cafes, restaurants and pubs, shopping centres, and public transport into the city.
Quest Port Adelaide
Quest Apartments is where to stay in Port Adelaide if you are a business traveller. These four star serviced apartments offer all the standard comforts of a business hotel but also include a kitchenette to allow for making a quick meal or snack. Quest also as a gym on site and free parking is available. It’s walking distance to nearby restaurants and shops, and many rooms have water views over the Port River.
Quest port Adelaide is also a good option for families, with a range of studio, 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom apartments available.
Port Adelaide Backpackers
This is where to stay in Port Adelaide if you are a budget traveller looking to explore this maritime precinct without the price tag. Located in the heart of Port Adelaide, Port Adelaide Backpackers has both dorm rooms and private rooms available, including family rooms, some with ensuite bathrooms too. All guests have access to a shared kitchen and communal area. Free wifi is available.
Where to Stay Near Port Adelaide
Here are some of the accommodation options in nearby suburbs just a few minutes from Port Adelaide. These all have various benefits, some are on the beachfront, some better for families, others are close to shops. All are more great places to stay in the Port Adelaide area.
Largs Pier Hotel
This is my pick of where to stay in Port Adelaide, and it’s also my recommendation if you are looking for a romantic place to stay. Located on the seafront at Largs Bay, not only does the Largs Pier Hotel have a great rock’n’roll history, it has an iconic charm about it too. Much of the grand hotel (see top photo) has been fully renovated, and the beautiful rooms upstairs in the main part of the hotel are spacious and comfortable with access to a balcony – the perfect place to sip a glass of wine as you watch the sun sink into the sea.
The rooms range from and entire suite which includes a dining room and a spa, to cheaper basic hotel rooms. The Largs Pier Hotel is open for meals all day, so it is easy to get breakfast, lunch or dinner on site.
The Largs Pier Hotel is a 7 minute drive from Port Adelaide.
The Lakes Hotel
The Lakes Resort Hotel in West Lakes is another good option for the business traveller or those who like a little more luxury when looking at where to stay in Port Adelaide. The hotel site right on the banks of the lake, and directly opposite to a large Westfield shopping centre, with restaurants, shops, cinemas and more right on your door step.
The four star hotel has a range of very comfortable rooms from standard queen rooms up to suites which comfortably accommodate four people. There is free onsite car parking and free wifi throughout and a gym and swimming pool to relax in. For fine dining just head downstairs to the acclaimed Crusoes Restaurant for a delicious meal. There is also a bar and a casual dining area too.
The Lakes Resort Hotel is a 10 minute drive from Port Adelaide
Nightcap @ Exeter Hotel
This three star local hotel is a great option to stay on Semaphore Road, still potentially in walking distance to Port Adelaide. It’s where to stay in Port Adelaide if you like hotel style accommodation but also need to watch the budget. While there is a restaurant (with children’s playground) and a bar on site, the Exeter Hotel is located a short stroll from many other food options, shops and even the beach
Nightcap @ Exeter Hotel has basic studios available, and for the larger family it also has a family suite that can sleep up to four adults and three children.

Semaphore Splash Apartments
Located closer to the beach on Semaphore Road, these newly built apartments are great for holiday travellers. They are also great if you are looking for where to stay in Port Adelaide for a little longer than the average visitor. The apartments are all open plan and modern, containing all you need for a great stay. It is only a minute or two to walk to the nearby restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, cinemas, and the beach is about five minutes away.
The apartments come in various sizes and can accommodate up to eight people in the three bedroom apartment. There is free parking and free wifi available, and each apartment also contains laundry facilities.
Semaphore Splash Apartments are a 5 minute drive from Port Adelaide
Semaphore Blue Apartments
These apartments are right in the thick of it on Semaphore Road, located only metres from the beachfront area.This is the perfect place to stay during the warmer months when you can take advantage of the outdoors and sit on the balcony and watch sunset over the sea.
All apartments have room for four adults, and include all you need for a weekend or an extended stay. Both parking and wifi are available free of charge. Shops, restaurants, a supermarket and other services are literally metres from the doors.
Semaphore Blue Apartments are a 6 minute drive from Port Adelaide
Discovery Parks – Adelaide Beachfront
Discovery Parks – Adelaide Beachfront is perfect for that absolute beachfront family holiday. The cabins in the park sit right on the sand with safe and easy access to the beach. If that’s not enough water, you will also find a swimming pool, along with a playground and BBQ area available to use. There are laundry facilities and an on site kiosk for daily basics.
There are a wide range of cabins available to sleep up to six adults. There are also accessible cabins available for those with a disability, and others that are pet-friendly. Parking and wifi are free of charge, and most cabins come with a full kitchen.
