In reply to Susan Pazera. Thanks Susan. New Zealand often makes it way into those "best countries in the world" lists and it is absolutely justified. It's an amazing country. I've made four visits now and barely touched the surface, there is so much to see and do.

Great post. It’s certainly the kind of post I’d want to find if I were planning a trip to Stewart Island. Thank goodness people like you do this kind of post. Mine are all just travel stories, but posts like this are really useful. We’ve spent time in NZ but didn’t get to Stewart. It looks lovely!

Oh, this looks like the perfect place to visit for me. I love the tranquility of the place and so much gorgeous nature. The turquoise waters are stunning. Somehow it reminds me a little of Sitka, Alaska [a small island off the west coast of the state…pretty much on the other side of the world from NZ]. One of these days I hope to get to New Zealand.

This looks like an absolute paradise!!! Places like Steward Island are my favorite places to travel – so peaceful and natural and just a bit rugged! Thanks for this post – I wouldn’t have known about Steward Island and now I will definitely find a way to visit when I go to New Zealand!
