We have “toyed” with the idea of visiting Bali and your tips are very helpful in our decision making. Wonderful post, so much information and your honesty is refreshing. You give enough information to help us make informed decisions.

I certainly hope they are banning single-use plastic as well since they are a SCUBA diving mecca and surely they understand the effects they are having on the environment. In reply to Teja. Hmmm, I didn't know about the ban, and when we were there in Nov/Dec 2019 bottled water was still available. I hope that it has changed since and they do stop the sale.

Bali supposedly has imposed a ban on single-use plastic, so I wonder if you could even buy bottled water now? Definitely check for drinking water stations or bring a portable mini filter like a LifeStraw or a Sawyer.
